JVC KW-X840BTS Double DIN Digital Media Receiver Bluetooth USB SiriusXM Alexa

Double DIN Digital Media Receiver

The JVC KW-X840BTS is a 2-DIN digital media receiver designed for drivers who want smartphone integration and streaming audio in a single dashboard unit. It includes a wired microphone for hands-free calls and offers front USB and AUX inputs for direct device connection. Amazon Alexa compatibility allows voice control through a press-to-speak function. The 1.5-line VA LCD display provides essential playback information at a glance.

Suits drivers needing Bluetooth multi-phone

This unit suits motorists who regularly switch between two paired phones and rely on Pandora, Spotify or iHeartRadio control from the head unit. The 13-band graphic EQ with 11 presets appeals to listeners who like detailed sound shaping. Buyers who require a built-in optical disc mechanism or HD Radio reception should look elsewhere, as neither feature is present. The SiriusXM function also demands a separate tuner purchase.

50 W × 4 peak power with 22 W × 4 RMS headroom

The MOS-FET amplifier delivers 50 W × 4 maximum output and 22 W RMS × 4 continuous power, which comfortably drives typical factory or aftermarket speakers in a standard cabin. Three 2.5 V pre-outs (front, rear, subwoofer) provide clean signal for adding external amplifiers when more output is needed. The 13-band EQ, time alignment and K2 processing extend tonal control, but the fixed 22 W RMS per channel limits maximum volume before distortion in noisy highway environments.
