What it is

The Kasa EC60 is a wired indoor security camera that records 1080p video with a 113-degree field of view. It connects over Wi-Fi and stores footage on a local microSD card up to 64 GB, with optional cloud recording. The camera includes night vision to 30 feet, two-way audio, and motion tracking with up to four custom activity zones. It works with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa for voice control and smart home routines.

Who it suits and who should look elsewhere

This camera suits households that want a single indoor unit for baby monitoring, pet watching or general security with local storage and no mandatory subscription. It is not for buyers who need battery-powered placement, outdoor weather resistance, or continuous recording without a microSD card installed. Installations requiring more than one camera or a wired Ethernet connection should consider other options.

The deciding specification

The camera records at 1080p resolution and saves video to a microSD card with a maximum capacity of 64 GB. If your use case demands higher resolution, larger local storage, or a built-in battery for wire-free mounting, this model will not meet those requirements.

Questions about this item

How much power does the EC60 draw when it records 1080p video around the clock?

The camera runs on a 10 ft USB cable, so it draws power continuously from the adapter you plug in.

What must I already own to install and run the EC60?

You need a Wi-Fi network, a smartphone for the Kasa app, and a MicroSD card up to 64 GB if you want local recording.

Will the EC60 work with my older 1080p monitors or TVs for live viewing?

Live view is through the Kasa app or Alexa and Google Assistant devices; there is no direct video output to a monitor.
