Replacement BP-727 battery and AC charger

This set provides a 3200 mAh lithium-ion battery rated at 3.7 V and 11.84 Wh together with a wall charger that accepts 100 to 240 V input. It is designed for owners of compatible Canon VIXIA and LEGRIA camcorders who need a spare or replacement power source. The charger features a foldable flat plug for compact storage and LED indicators showing red while charging and green when complete.

Upgrading from lower-capacity Canon packs

The 3200 mAh cell replaces Canon BP-727, BP-718 and BP-709 batteries as well as the US 6055B002 pack used across many VIXIA and LEGRIA models. The jump is worth it when the original battery no longer holds a full day of recording or when a second pack is needed for extended shoots without access to mains power. The included charger operates at 4.2 V and 600 mA output, matching the original CG-700 specifications.

Suitable for camcorder users needing a spare power

Videographers using any listed VIXIA or LEGRIA model gain a ready-to-use battery and charger combination that works worldwide on 100 to 240 V supplies. Users whose cameras require a different battery form factor or a higher voltage system should look at other options, as this pack is limited to the specific Canon models and battery part numbers listed in the compatibility data.

Questions about this item

Does the BP-727 battery fit the Canon VIXIA HF R500 and LEGRIA HF M506 camcorders?

Yes, the BP-727 replaces Canon BP-727, BP-718 and BP-709 packs used in the VIXIA HF R500 and LEGRIA HF M506 models.

How do I charge the battery with the supplied wall charger, and what is the common mistake?

Plug the charger into 100–240 V AC, insert the battery until it clicks, and watch the LED; the mistake is removing it while the light is still red instead of waiting for green.

When will the 3200 mAh Li-Ion pack need replacement, and what charger voltage should I use?

Expect 300–500 full cycles before capacity drops noticeably; always recharge with a 4.2 V DC source such as the included charger or a Canon CG-700.
