Controls two computers with one keyboard, mouse and dual 4K 60 Hz monitors, adds USB 3.0 hub and 3.5 mm audio, switches by button, remote or hotkey
The KEHIPI switch lets two computers share one keyboard, one mouse and two HDMI monitors. It is built for users who need to move between a workstation and a laptop without unplugging cables. The device also passes USB 3.0 peripherals and 3.5 mm audio between the same two systems.
The unit has no fans and draws power from the connected computers, so it adds no audible noise or measurable heat to the desk. USB 3.0 ports deliver up to 5 Gb/s throughput for attached storage or printers while the switch itself remains completely passive.
A compact metal enclosure provides shielding and durability for daily switching. Front-panel select buttons, an IR remote sensor and programmable hotkeys give three ways to change the active computer. Dual HDMI outputs support extended or mirrored desktop modes at up to 4K 60 Hz with HDCP 2.2 compliance.

Connect each computer with one HDMI cable and one USB cable to the switch, then connect both monitors to the switch HDMI outputs; the step often missed is plugging in both USB cables so keyboard, mouse and USB 3.0 hub ports work on both PCs.
No scheduled maintenance is required; if the IR remote stops responding, replace its coin-cell battery, and if a USB 3.0 hub port or 3.5 mm audio jack wears out, the whole unit would need replacement.
The HDMI 2.0 bandwidth ceiling of 4K 60 Hz RGB 4:4:4 is the first limit; higher refresh rates such as 1080p 144 Hz are only available at lower resolutions.
