Compact 9V PD Decoy Module

This module performs USB-C Power Delivery negotiation to request a fixed 9V output from a compatible charger or power bank. It uses a 2721 hardware PD chip that cannot be reprogrammed or upgraded. Each pack contains five identical units for multiple projects or spares.

Build integration and cable needs

The board measures 17.6 by 10.2 by 4.2 mm and presents a Type-C female input, so it slots into tight enclosures or prototype boards. To draw currents above 3A the supply requires an electronically marked Type-C cable and a genuine PD source; Quick Charge-only chargers will not trigger the 9V contract.

Capacity headroom and limits

Rated for up to 5A at 9V, the decoy suits small appliances, smart-home nodes, power-tool electronics and similar loads. It operates from -25 to 85 °C at 5 to 95 % relative humidity. If the connected supply does not support 9V it will fall back to its next lower voltage, and the module cannot negotiate any other level.
