Forms new threads, re-forms damaged ones and cleans obstructions across six tap sizes with a cushion-grip handle for extra torque
The Klein Tools 626 forms new threads, re-forms burred or damaged threads and clears obstructions in electrical boxes and fittings. It automatically re-threads to the next larger size when threads are stripped. A cushion-grip handle provides greater torque and comfort during repetitive use. Electricians working on conduit and junction boxes will find it suited to daily maintenance tasks.
The tool accommodates six tap sizes: 6-32, 8-32, 10-32, 10-24, 12-24 and 1/4-20. This range covers common machine-screw threads found in electrical enclosures and hardware. It handles thread repair across these sizes without needing separate taps. Work requiring threads outside this range or non-standard pitches will need a different tool.
The overall length is 7-3/4 inches, giving a compact profile for tight enclosures while still allowing two-handed leverage. Replacement taps are available to extend service life. Buyers who need a longer reach or a ratcheting mechanism should look elsewhere. The tool is manufactured in China and supplied new.
