Klipsch RP-500MWII Walnut Bookshelf Speakers

The Klipsch RP-500MWII are a pair of passive bookshelf speakers finished in walnut. They use a two-way design with a 5.25-inch Cerametallic woofer and a 1-inch LTS titanium tweeter housed in a 90° x 90° Tractrix horn. Dual binding posts allow bi-wiring or bi-amping configurations for system flexibility.

Suited for stereo pairs

These speakers suit listeners building a music or home-cinema system around a separate amplifier. They are not powered, so buyers needing a built-in amplifier, wireless streaming or a compact desktop form factor should consider active alternatives instead.

Handles up to 75W continuous power

The 75W continuous rating provides comfortable headroom for dynamic peaks in typical living-room listening. The horn-loaded tweeter increases sensitivity, so moderate amplifier power reaches satisfying volumes. Very large rooms or reference-level home-theatre demands may exceed the available output.

Questions about this item

What amplifier power rating do I need to drive the 75 W continuous handling of the RP-500MWII?

Select an amplifier that can deliver up to 75 W per channel into the speaker's nominal impedance so the 5.25-inch Cerametallic woofer and LTS titanium tweeter receive clean power without clipping.

Will the 90° x 90° Tractrix horn on the RP-500MWII integrate smoothly with older Klipsch speakers that use a narrower horn?

The 90° x 90° silicone composite hybrid Tractrix horn gives a wide, controlled dispersion that matches the coverage pattern of current Reference Premiere models, so timbre stays consistent across a mixed-vintage system.

How can I verify the vented tweeter and Cerametallic woofer are performing correctly after setup?

Play a familiar high-resolution track and listen for clean, detailed highs without harshness from the vented LTS tweeter plus tight, articulate bass from the 5.25-inch Cerametallic woofer at moderate volume.
