12-inch Synergy Subwoofer

The Klipsch SUB-120-BLACK is a powered subwoofer built for home theatre and stereo systems. It uses a 12-inch down-firing driver and a front-firing Cerametallic woofer to produce low-frequency effects. The cabinet uses a bass-reflex design and receives power from a standard mains lead.

Suits single-subwoofer setups

This unit fits listeners who want one active subwoofer for films and music. It connects through a single wired input compatible with most AV receivers. Buyers who want wireless placement or multiple subwoofers for larger rooms should look at other configurations.

420 watts dynamic power

The amplifier delivers 200 watts continuous and 420 watts dynamic power. This figure determines the maximum output level before compression. Match it to your room size and desired listening volume to confirm the subwoofer meets your performance target.

Questions about this item

What interface does the SUB-120-BLACK use and what frequency range does it cover?

The SUB-120-BLACK connects via wired line-level inputs to any AV receiver and reproduces frequencies from 27 Hz up to 120 kHz.

What physical space and orientation does the 12-inch down-firing driver require?

The cabinet measures 36.4 cm in its largest dimension and needs clearance beneath the down-firing 12-inch driver for proper bass dispersion.

How is the subwoofer installed and what step is commonly missed?

Plug the corded electric power supply and a single RCA cable into the .1 LFE output, then set the receiver crossover near 120 Hz — many forget to enable the subwoofer in the receiver menu.
