Violet on-ear headphones

The Koss KPH7V is a lightweight on-ear headphone in violet aimed at listeners who want portable wired audio without bulk. An adjustable headband gives a secure fit for daily commuting or desk use. The 3.5 mm plug connects directly to phones, tablets or laptops. Dynamic elements drive a frequency response of 80 to 18,000 Hz at 91 dB SPL sensitivity.

Upgrade from earbuds

Replacing basic in-ear buds with these on-ear cups adds a deeper bass response and a wider soundstage while keeping the same pocketable footprint. The four-foot straight cord reaches a jacket pocket or desktop without strain. The jump is worth it when you prefer over-the-head comfort for long sessions and want a simple analogue connection with no pairing or charging.

Wired 3.5 mm limits

The 3.5 mm analogue jack ties audio quality to the source device’s built-in DAC and amplifier, so output voltage and noise floor vary between phones, laptops and portable players. The 32 ohm impedance is easy to drive but offers no isolation from source hiss. The four-foot cable length restricts movement to arm’s reach and can snag on bags or furniture. No inline remote or microphone means call control stays on the host device.

Questions about this item

What devices can I plug the 3.5 mm connector into?

The 3.5 mm plug fits any standard headphone jack on phones, tablets, laptops or portable players; the four-foot cord gives enough reach for desk or pocket use.

How do I adjust the headband so it stays secure?

Slide each side of the adjustable headband until the on-ear cups sit flat against your ears with light pressure; the mistake is leaving it too loose, which lets the cups leak bass.

When should I replace the ear pads?

Replace the foam pads when they no longer spring back, crack at the edges or let outside noise in, usually after months of daily wear.
