Compact UHF Antenna for Mobile Installations

The TRA4500N is a low-profile antenna covering 450-470MHz with 3 dBi gain. It suits fleet vehicles, public-safety radios and other mobile setups that need reliable UHF coverage without a tall whip. The white ABS housing blends with light-coloured roofs and resists weathering.

NMO Mount Integration and Signal Stability

The antenna mounts on any standard NMO base, so it fits existing roof or trunk-lid mounts without new holes. Its patented PC-board radiator is designed to counteract signal fading in reflective or mobile environments such as urban canyons or rolling terrain. The low profile reduces the risk of snagging on garage doors, tree branches or car-wash equipment.

Passive Operation and Durability

As a passive radiating element it draws no power and adds no noise to the receiver front-end. The ABS radome protects the internal PCB from UV, moisture and road salt. Normal use requires only occasional visual inspection of the mount seal and connector.

Questions about this item

What is the maximum gain before signal fading becomes an issue?

The antenna provides 3 dBi gain across 450-470 MHz and its patented PC board radiator counteracts fading in reflective or mobile environments.

Does the ABS housing get hot or draw extra power during continuous mobile use?

The antenna is a passive component with no power draw; the ABS material and low-profile design dissipate ambient heat without active cooling.

Which NMO mount and coaxial cable must I already have to install this antenna?

Any standard NMO mount and 50-ohm coaxial cable with the matching connector will work; the antenna includes the NMO base for direct mounting.
