Compact business desktop with integrated display

The Lenovo ThinkCentre M720q 10T7007WUS combines a 24-inch Full HD IPS panel with an 8th Gen Intel Core i5-8500 hexa-core processor running at up to 4.10 GHz. It ships with 16 GB of DDR4 memory, a 256 GB M.2 SSD for the operating system and a 1 TB hard drive for bulk storage. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed alongside a USB keyboard and mouse, making it a ready-to-deploy solution for office workers and small-business environments that value desk space.

65 W processor in a micro form factor

The i5-8500 carries a 65 W thermal design power, which the Tiny chassis manages without a large cooling assembly. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics keeps the graphics load on the same die, avoiding the extra heat of a discrete card. A USB Wi-Fi and Bluetooth dongle handles wireless connectivity, drawing minimal power. In typical productivity workloads the system runs quietly, with fan noise staying low enough for open-plan offices or reception areas.

Micro chassis limits internal expansion

The MFF case uses a 240-pin DIMM slot layout and provides no room for full-size add-in cards, so storage upgrades are restricted to the existing M.2 and 2.5-inch bays. A DVD-ROM drive is built in for legacy media access, while external ports handle additional peripherals. Buyers who need multiple graphics outputs, additional internal drives or PCIe expansion cards should look at larger form factors. The included USB keyboard and mouse connect directly to the rear I/O, keeping the front panel clean.

Questions about this item

How is the M720q Tiny mounted to the back of the 24-inch display, and what step is often missed?

The Tiny PC attaches via a VESA bracket that screws into the monitor stand; the step often missed is tightening the four security screws before routing cables.

Which memory modules can be swapped later, and what is the maximum supported capacity?

Two DDR4 UDIMM slots accept up to 32 GB total, so you can replace the installed 16 GB with larger sticks when needed.

What thermal limit appears first during prolonged heavy workloads on the i5-8500?

The 65 W processor hits its 65 W power ceiling, causing the fan to spin faster and clocks to throttle back toward the 3.0 GHz base frequency.
