Compact desktop for office and study

The Lenovo ThinkCentre M720q is an ultra-small-form-factor PC built around an Intel Core i5-8500T six-core processor with UHD Graphics 630. It ships with 16GB DDR4 memory, a 256GB SSD and Windows 11 Home preinstalled. The 3.0000 kg black chassis fits behind a monitor or on a cluttered desk.

Suits single-monitor workers.

This system serves students, front-desk staff and home-office users who need one reliable screen for documents, web apps and video calls. Buyers who want more storage, additional memory slots or discrete graphics for heavy rendering should look at something else.

Six-core i5-8500T with 3.50GHz max turbo decides fit

The processor reaches 3.50GHz on short bursts and runs at a low thermal design that keeps the tiny case quiet. If your workflow depends on sustained multi-thread throughput or GPU acceleration, the integrated UHD 630 and fixed 16GB RAM will limit you.

Questions about this item

How can I verify the Intel Core i5-8500T processor is running at its 3.50 GHz maximum turbo speed after setup?

Open Task Manager in Windows 11 Home, select the Performance tab, choose CPU, and watch the live frequency while a heavy workload runs; it should reach 3.50 GHz when thermal headroom allows.

What is included in the box and what must I purchase separately for a working station?

The box contains the 3.0000 kg USFF desktop with 16 GB DDR4 memory, 256 GB SSD, UHD Graphics 630, and Windows 11 Home preinstalled; you must add a monitor, keyboard, mouse, and any cables.

Which memory type should I select if I want to expand the 16 GB DDR4 capacity later?

Choose DDR4 SO-DIMM modules that match the installed speed; the system uses DDR4 exclusively, so other generations will not fit.
