Compact All-in-One Desktop

This Lenovo ThinkCentre M720q Tiny combines the computer and a 24-inch FHD IPS display in a single micro-form-factor chassis. It is built around an 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8700 hexa-core processor with 12 MB cache and a 4.60 GHz turbo frequency. The system ships with 8 GB of DDR4 UDIMM memory and a dual-drive layout of 128 GB M.2 SSD plus 1 TB hard drive. Windows 11 Pro, a DVD-ROM drive, USB keyboard and mouse are included.

Build Integration

The all-in-one design removes the need for a separate tower and monitor, freeing desk space and reducing cable count to a single power lead. A USB Wi-Fi and Bluetooth dongle supplies wireless connectivity, while the integrated Intel UHD Graphics drive the built-in panel. DDR4 memory slots support expansion up to 32 GB, and the M.2 plus 2.5-inch bay arrangement allows further storage upgrades without external enclosures.

Target User

Suits office workers, reception desks and education labs that need a ready-to-run Windows 11 Pro station with a crisp 24-inch screen and quiet micro footprint. Buyers who want more storage than the factory 128 GB SSD plus 1 TB HDD, or who require discrete graphics performance, should look at a different configuration.

Questions about this item

Does the 65 W Intel Core i7-8700 throttle under sustained multi-threaded load in the Tiny chassis?

The i7-8700 is rated at 65 W with a 4.6 GHz turbo ceiling; the Tiny form factor relies on a compact internal cooler, so extended all-core workloads will likely hit thermal limits and reduce clocks below the maximum turbo frequency.

How loud and hot does the system get when it runs all day with the 65 W processor and dual drives?

Under continuous load the small chassis fan spins up noticeably and exhaust air becomes warm; idle or light office work stays quiet, but sustained compute pushes both noise and surface temperature higher than a full-size tower.

The listing shows a USB Wi-Fi/BT dongle — is the internal M.2 Wi-Fi slot already occupied or free for an internal card?

The supplier notes integrated Wi-Fi is optional and a USB dongle is supplied, which indicates the internal M.2 wireless slot is unpopulated and available if you prefer an internal card later.
