Compact business desktop for office workloads

The Lenovo ThinkCentre M720q Tiny is a micro-form-factor desktop built around an 8th Gen Intel Core i5-8500 hexa-core processor running at 3.0 GHz with a 4.1 GHz turbo. It ships with 32 GB of DDR4 memory, a 256 GB M.2 solid-state drive plus a 1 TB hard drive, and Windows 10 Pro pre-installed. A USB keyboard and mouse are included, making it ready for general business tasks out of the box.

Limited expansion due to micro chassis

The tiny case restricts internal upgrades to the existing M.2 slot and 2.5-inch drive bay; no full-size add-in cards fit. Graphics rely on Intel UHD Graphics, so the system handles everyday productivity and video playback but is not suited for 3D rendering, CAD or modern gaming. Wireless connectivity is provided by a USB dongle rather than an internal card, which occupies one port and may offer lower throughput than built-in solutions.

Simple setup with few failure points

Installation consists of connecting power, a display and network cable, then pressing the power button — Windows 10 Pro completes the rest automatically. The most common issues are loose USB dongle connections causing intermittent Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, and the small chassis limiting airflow if vents are blocked by surrounding equipment. Keeping the front and side grilles clear prevents thermal throttling during sustained loads.
