Compact business desktop

The Lenovo ThinkCentre M720q is a micro form-factor desktop built around an Intel Core i5-8500 hexa-core processor running at 3.0 GHz with a maximum turbo frequency of 4.10 GHz. It ships with 8 GB of DDR4 memory and a 2.5-inch 1 TB solid-state drive. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed and a USB keyboard and mouse are included.

Office and home-office users

This system suits workers who need a small, quiet PC for everyday productivity, web browsing and video conferencing. The integrated Intel UHD Graphics and 65 W processor envelope keep heat and noise low. Buyers who require discrete graphics performance, more than 8 GB of memory out of the box, or a larger chassis for internal expansion cards should look elsewhere.

Storage and memory headroom

The 1 TB SSD provides ample room for the operating system, applications and a large document library without relying on external drives. The platform supports up to 32 GB of DDR4 memory, so the installed 8 GB can be doubled or quadrupled when workloads grow. The single 2.5-inch drive bay limits further internal storage expansion unless an M.2 slot is populated.

Questions about this item

What display cable and monitor do I need to use the Intel UHD Graphics on this M720q?

Connect a monitor with HDMI or DisplayPort input using the matching cable; the tiny desktop has both video outputs driven by the integrated Intel UHD Graphics.

Can I keep my existing DDR4 UDIMM modules and add them to the 8 GB already installed?

Yes, the board accepts standard DDR4 UDIMM sticks and supports up to 32 GB total, so you can retain compatible modules you already own.

How do I confirm the 1 TB SSD is recognised and set as the boot drive after first power-on?

Open Windows 11 Settings → System → Storage and verify a 1 TB drive appears with the Windows logo, or check BIOS boot order lists the SSD first.
