Compact business desktop with dual storage

The Lenovo ThinkCentre M720q Tiny packs an 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8700 hexa-core processor with 12 MB cache and up to 4.60 GHz turbo. It ships with 8 GB DDR4 UDIMM, a 256 GB M.2 SSD for the OS, and a 1 TB hard drive for bulk data. Windows 11 Pro, USB keyboard and mouse are included in the micro form factor chassis.

Suits office and light productivity users

This configuration handles document work, web apps and multi-monitor setups through integrated Intel UHD Graphics. Buyers needing discrete graphics for CAD, rendering or gaming should look elsewhere. The single 8 GB module leaves one DIMM slot free for expansion up to 32 GB DDR4.

Dual-drive layout decides fit

The 256 GB M.2 SSD plus 1 TB hard drive combination separates system responsiveness from large-file capacity. If your workload demands more than 256 GB of fast solid-state space, this drive layout will not meet the requirement.

Questions about this item

Does the box contain a monitor or do I need to buy one separately?

Should I choose the 8 GB DDR4 configuration or add more memory up to the 32 GB limit?

The system ships with 8 GB DDR4 UDIMM installed and supports up to 32 GB total, so you can add modules later if your workloads need more capacity.

How does the 4.6 GHz turbo speed of the i7-8700 translate to everyday performance?

The six-core i7-8700 runs at a 3.20 GHz base clock and can boost to 4.60 GHz on demanding tasks, while the 256 GB M.2 SSD and 1 TB hard drive keep boot and load times fast.
