Compact business desktop

The Lenovo ThinkCentre M720s is a small-form-factor desktop built for office environments. It ships with Windows 11 Pro installed and includes a USB keyboard and mouse. An 8th Generation Intel Core i7-8700 hexa-core processor runs at 3.20 GHz with a turbo frequency up to 4.60 GHz. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 630 handles display output.

Dual-drive storage and memory limits

This configuration suits users who want a fast 128 GB M.2 solid-state drive for the operating system plus a 1 TB SSD for data. Sixteen gigabytes of DDR4 memory are fitted and the platform supports up to 32 GB. Buyers who need more than 32 GB of RAM or who require a discrete graphics card should look at a larger workstation chassis.

Low-profile expansion constraint

The SFF case only accepts low-profile expansion cards and provides limited internal space for additional drives. A 65-watt processor rating keeps thermals manageable in the compact enclosure. Verify that any add-in card matches the low-profile form factor before purchase.

Questions about this item

What does the 4.6 GHz turbo speed mean for everyday workloads?

The Intel Core i7-8700 can reach 4.6 GHz on active cores under load, giving snappy response in office apps and light multitasking while staying within its 65 W power envelope.

How does the SFF case limit expansion compared to a tower?

The small form factor fits low-profile cards only and has room for one 2.5-inch drive plus the existing M.2 slot; full-height add-in cards will not fit.

Will the 240-pin DDR4 slots accept standard desktop memory?

Yes, the board uses 240-pin DDR4 UDIMM slots, so ordinary desktop DDR4 modules up to the 32 GB maximum are compatible.
