Business desktop with hybrid storage

The Lenovo ThinkCentre M720s is a small-form-factor desktop built around an 8th Generation Intel Core i5-8500 hexa-core processor running at up to 4.10 GHz. It ships with 16 GB of DDR4 UDIMM memory, a 128 GB M.2 solid-state drive for the operating system, and a 1 TB hard drive for bulk data. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed and a USB keyboard and mouse are included.

Suits office workers needing dual-drive capacity

This configuration suits users who want a responsive boot drive plus a large secondary volume for documents and backups without adding extra hardware. Buyers who need more than 16 GB of memory or who require a dedicated graphics card for intensive 3D work should look at other systems.

128 GB M.2 SSD plus 1 TB HDD combination

The single specification that decides fit is the paired storage layout: a 128 GB M.2 drive holding Windows 11 Pro and a 1 TB mechanical drive for capacity. If the primary drive is too small for your application set, this unit will not meet the requirement.

Questions about this item

What does the i5-8500 reaching 4.10 GHz mean for everyday tasks?

The six-core processor runs at a 3.0 GHz base and can boost to 4.10 GHz on demanding threads, so Windows 11 Pro, office suites and web browsing stay responsive while the 65 W power limit keeps heat low in the compact SFF case.

How does the M.2 interface affect the 128 GB drive speed?

The M.2 slot accepts a 128 GB solid-state drive that serves as the boot device, letting Windows 11 Pro and key applications load much faster than they would from the 1 TB hard drive.

Will the 16 GB DDR4 memory fit the motherboard slots?

Yes, the system ships with 16 GB of DDR4 UDIMM installed in the standard 240-pin DIMM slots, and the platform supports expansion up to 32 GB if you add matching modules later.
