Core configuration

This Lenovo ThinkPad L15 Gen 2 ships with a quad-core Intel Core i7-1165G7 processor, 16GB of DDR4 memory and a 2TB PCIe NVMe SSD. It runs Windows 11 Pro on a 15.6 inch 1920x1080 IPS panel at 60Hz with integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics.

Who it suits

The specification fits office workers, students and mobile professionals who need generous local storage and enough memory for heavy multitasking without adding modules. Buyers who want a touchscreen, a discrete GPU or a higher refresh rate display should look elsewhere.

Deciding specification

The single specification that decides fit is the 2TB PCIe NVMe SSD capacity; it determines whether the machine can hold large project libraries and media collections without external drives or cloud sync.

Questions about this item

How loud or hot does the i7-1165G7 get when the laptop runs all day on the 45 WHr battery?

The 4-core i7-1165G7 reaches 4.7 GHz turbo under load; the 3-cell 45 WHr pack and 65 W supply handle the thermal envelope without extra cooling gear.

What cables or peripherals must I already own to use the Thunderbolt 4 and HDMI ports?

A USB-C cable for Thunderbolt 4 devices and a standard HDMI cable for external displays; the box includes only the 65 W power adapter.

Will my older USB-A drives work with the two USB 3.2 Gen1 ports on this ThinkPad?

Yes — both USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A ports are backward compatible with earlier USB-A flash drives, mice and hard disks.
