ThinkPad L15 Gen 2 business laptop

The Lenovo ThinkPad L15 Gen 2 is a 15.6 inch Windows 10 Pro laptop built for office and remote work. It runs an 11th Gen Intel Core i7-1165G7 processor with four cores, eight threads and a 4.7 GHz turbo frequency. The system includes 64GB DDR4 memory and a 512GB PCIe NVMe SSD for fast boot and application loading. Integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics drive the 1920 x 1080 60Hz IPS display.

Thermals noise and 65W power supply

A 65W power adapter charges the 3-cell 45 WHr battery during typical productivity tasks. The integrated graphics and efficient 11th Gen CPU keep heat output moderate under normal workloads such as document editing, video calls and web browsing. Fan noise remains low in these scenarios, rising only when sustained multi-core turbo is engaged. The chassis stays comfortable for lap use during standard business hours.

Upgrade from 8GB or 16GB systems

This configuration replaces laptops limited to 8GB or 16GB soldered memory that cannot be expanded later. The 64GB DDR4 capacity supports heavy multitasking, large spreadsheets and local virtual machines without paging. Buyers who need discrete graphics for 3D rendering, GPU compute or high-refresh gaming should look elsewhere. The single 512GB drive may also require external storage for large media libraries.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 64GB DDR4 memory modules and what step do people often miss?

The 64GB DDR4 SODIMM memory is already installed by the technician who opened the box for the upgrade. No user installation is required.

What maintenance will the 3-Cell 45 WHr battery need later?

The 45 WHr battery is internal. When its runtime drops noticeably, a qualified technician must open the chassis to replace it.

At what point does the 2.80GHz i7-1165G7 hit its thermal limit during sustained loads?

The processor can boost to 4.7 GHz, but the 65W power supply and 45 WHr battery cap sustained performance before the chip reaches its maximum turbo for long periods.
