Lenovo Thinkpad T14 Gen 2 business laptop

The Lenovo Thinkpad T14 Gen 2 is a 14.0 inch business laptop powered by an 11th Gen Intel Core i5-1135G7 processor with 4 cores and 8MB cache. It comes with 40GB DDR4 memory and a 4TB PCIe SSD running Ubuntu Linux. This configuration suits professionals who need large local storage and memory for virtual machines or data analysis.

Thermals noise and power

The system includes a 65W power supply and a 50WHr lithium-polymer battery. Integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics share system memory and keep heat output moderate during typical office workloads. Fan noise stays low for standard productivity tasks such as document editing and video calls. Power draw scales with the 2.40GHz base clock and 4.2GHz boost frequency.

Build connectivity and daily use

The chassis measures 12.9 x 8.9 x 0.70 inches and weighs 3.23lb in black finish. Two Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports, two USB-A 3.2 Gen1 ports, HDMI, RJ45 Ethernet, micro SD reader and a combo audio jack cover docking and peripheral needs. A 720p webcam and Wi-Fi 6 with Bluetooth 5.2 support remote meetings. The non-touch IPS display offers 1920 x 1080 resolution.

Questions about this item

How is the DDR4 memory installed and which step is often missed?

The 40 GB of DDR4 SO-DIMM memory is already installed; no user installation is required, so there is no step to miss.

What maintenance or replacement will the 50 WHr Li-Polymer battery need later?

The integrated 50 WHr battery will eventually hold less charge and may need professional replacement when runtime becomes too short.

What limit appears first on the i5-1135G7 during sustained loads?

The 11th Gen Core i5-1135G7 will hit its thermal ceiling under prolonged heavy work, causing clock speeds to drop from the 4.2 GHz maximum.
