Purpose-built portable workstation

The Lenovo ThinkPad T14 Gen 3 is a 14.0 inch laptop powered by a 10-core Intel Core i5-1245U processor with a maximum turbo frequency of 4.40 GHz. It ships with 24 GB of DDR4 memory and a 256 GB NVMe PCIe SSD running Windows 11 Pro. The WUXGA display offers a 1920 x 1200 resolution on a non-touch LED panel. Integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics use shared system memory for everyday visual tasks.

Connectivity and expansion

Two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports and two USB 3.2 Type-C Gen 2 ports with Thunderbolt 4 support handle peripherals and external displays. A full-size HDMI 2.0 output and an RJ-45 Ethernet jack are built in for wired video and networking. Wireless connectivity uses Wifi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1. The 256 GB drive leaves limited room for large local libraries, so users with heavy media workloads will want external storage. The single audio combo jack covers headset needs.

Thermals and power profile

The 10-core hybrid architecture balances performance cores and efficient cores to manage heat during sustained workloads. Fan activity will rise under heavy multi-threaded tasks but remains moderate for typical office applications. The included AC adapter matches the system's power requirements for charging and operation. Battery life varies with screen brightness and workload intensity.

Questions about this item

How long can the i5-1245U hold its 4.40 GHz turbo before thermal limits force it down?

The 10-core processor reaches 4.40 GHz on P-cores and 3.3 GHz on E-cores; sustained clocks depend on the laptop's cooling capacity and workload.

What are the fan noise and surface temperatures like during an all-day workload?

The ThinkPad chassis uses dual-fan cooling; fan speed and palm-rest temperature rise with sustained CPU and integrated Iris Xe graphics load.

Which docks or monitors work with the two Thunderbolt 4 Type-C ports?

Both USB-C ports support Thunderbolt 4 and DisplayPort alt-mode, so any Thunderbolt 4 or USB4 dock and HDMI 2.0 monitor will connect.
