Built for mobile professionals

The ThinkPad T14 Gen 3 pairs a 10-core Intel Core i5-1245U with 24GB DDR4 memory and a 512GB NVMe PCIe SSD. Windows 11 Pro runs on a 14-inch WUXGA display at 1920 x 1200 resolution. Intel Iris Xe graphics handle everyday visual tasks without a discrete GPU.

Thermals and power in daily use

The hybrid 2P+8E core design scales from 1.2GHz efficient cores up to 4.40GHz turbo for burst workloads. Shared system memory keeps the graphics subsystem lean. Thunderbolt 4 ports and Wifi 6 connectivity maintain throughput while the integrated cooling manages sustained office loads.

Ports and software that shape the workflow

Two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, two Thunderbolt 4 Type-C ports, HDMI 2.0 and RJ-45 Ethernet cover dock and display needs. A 720p webcam with privacy shutter and a combo audio jack support calls. Bluetooth 5.1 pairs peripherals. Buyers who need a dedicated GPU or larger storage expansion should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 24GB DDR4 memory and what step do people get wrong?

The 24GB DDR4 is soldered and not user-replaceable, so there is no installation step; the common mistake is trying to open the chassis to add a module that does not exist.

What maintenance or replacement will the 512GB NVMe SSD need later?

The 512GB NVMe PCIe SSD is the only user-replaceable storage; plan to swap it for a larger drive when capacity runs low, and keep firmware updated via Windows Update.

What limit appears first on the Intel Core i5-1245U during sustained loads?

The 10-core processor hits its thermal ceiling before the 4.4GHz turbo can be held, so clocks drop to base frequencies of 1.6GHz P-core and 1.2GHz E-core under long workloads.
