Business ultraportable for mobile professionals

The Lenovo ThinkPad T480s is a 14-inch laptop built for frequent travel and office work. It runs Windows 7 Professional on an Intel Core i5-8250U processor with 24 GB of DDR4 memory and a 512 GB NVMe SSD. The 1920 x 1080 IPS matte display and fingerprint reader support secure, comfortable productivity on the move.

Suits users needing legacy OS and strong portability

This configuration fits organisations that still require Windows 7 Pro compatibility and a lightweight chassis under three pounds. Buyers who need a touchscreen, dedicated graphics, or a newer Windows version should look at other models because this unit has a non-touch screen and integrated graphics only.

Thunderbolt 3 and security features expand utility

The Thunderbolt 3 port delivers up to 40 Gbps bandwidth for high-speed docks, external storage and dual 4K displays while supplying power. The match-on-chip fingerprint reader and ThinkShutter webcam cover add hardware-level authentication and physical privacy without extra software.

Does the laptop need an external power supply to run the Intel Core i5-8250U and 24GB DDR4 RAM?

The laptop includes its own AC adapter to power the Intel Core i5-8250U processor and 24GB DDR4 memory; no separate supply is required.

Will the Thunderbolt 3 port work with my older USB 3.0 dock and monitors?

Open File Explorer to see the 512GB NVMe drive listed and check System Properties to verify Windows 7 Professional 64-bit is active.
