Business tablet convertible

The Lenovo ThinkPad X220 Tablet combines a 12.5 inch touch display with a Core i7-2640M processor reaching 3.50 GHz. It ships with Windows 7 Home Premium, 8GB DDR3 memory and a 256GB solid state drive. The convertible form factor suits mobile professionals who need pen input and laptop productivity in one device.

Keyboard durability and port selection

The spill-resistant ThinkPad keyboard is built for heavy daily typing and the chassis meets premium durability standards with Active Protection System. Connectivity includes three USB ports, VGA and DisplayPort outputs, gigabit LAN, 802.11b/g/n wireless and a docking connector shared with other ThinkPad series. The redesigned hinge adds stronger magnetic latching for tablet mode stability.

Legacy operating system and display limits

Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit no longer receives security updates, so internet-connected use requires additional safeguards. The 1366x768 HD panel limits on-screen workspace and external display resolution over VGA. Shared system memory for graphics reduces available RAM for intensive multitasking or modern applications.

Questions about this item

What display connection does the DisplayPort support and what resolution does it cap at?

The DisplayPort drives an external monitor up to the panel's native 1366x768 resolution using shared system memory.

What physical slot does the 256GB drive use and what clearance is needed?

The 256GB SSD fits the internal drive bay; the chassis measures 12.5 inches wide so the drive must match that form factor.

How is Windows 7 Home Premium installed on the 256GB SSD and what step is often missed?

Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit comes pre-loaded on the 256GB SSD; the step users miss is running the initial updates before connecting to a domain.
