What this grip is and who it fits

Lizard Skins DSP Ultra MLB Bat Grip Tape is a Durasoft Polymer grip that carries the Pittsburgh Pirates team colours and logos. It is made for baseball and softball players who want a thin, tacky layer on wood, composite or aluminum bats. The tape also works on hockey sticks, lacrosse shafts, cricket bats, canes, walkers, crutches and racquets. Buyers who prefer a thicker cushioning layer will not get it from this roll.

Thickness decides the feel

This version measures .5 mm thick, adding virtually no diameter to the handle while still providing a textured, slip-resistant surface. The same line is offered in 1.1 mm for a balance of cushion and control and 1.8 mm for maximum vibration dampening. Choosing the .5 mm option means you keep the original handle profile almost unchanged.

How it installs and what it replaces

The roll is 990 millimetres long, equal to 39 inches, and comes with pre-cut ends and a full adhesive back. You wrap it directly onto a clean handle — no extra tape or glue required — and it adheres to wood, composite or aluminum. The single layer replaces traditional cloth tape or thicker grips, freeing up handle space and reducing vibration without increasing grip size.

Questions about this item

How much does the 0.5 mm thickness change the feel of a bat handle?

The 0.5 mm tape adds virtually no extra diameter so the handle keeps its original shape while giving a textured, slip-resistant surface.

Does the full adhesive back stick to composite and aluminum bats as well as wood?

Yes, the adhesive is designed to bond securely to wood, composite and aluminum handles without peeling in hot or cold weather.

Will the 39 inch roll cover the entire handle of a standard adult bat?

The 990 millimetre roll with pre-cut ends is long enough to wrap a typical adult bat handle from knob to taper in one piece.
