RG6U Quad Shield coaxial cable
The LOGICO COX3503 is a 1000ft RG6U Quad Shield coaxial cable with an 18AWG copper-clad steel conductor. It is built for digital HDTV cable TV and digital satellite installations where a quad-shield design helps reject interference over long runs. The white PVC jacket is flame-retardant and CM rated for in-wall use. Supplied on a wooden reel for easier pulling.
Shielding limits at 3.0 GHz
The cable uses four shielding layers: bonded aluminum foil, a 60% aluminum braid of 16x0.16mm, unbonded aluminum foil, and a 40% aluminum braid of 16x0.16mm. This construction is rated to 3.0 GHz, so signal loss and ingress rise above that frequency. The copper-clad steel centre conductor has higher DC resistance than solid copper, making it unsuitable for carrying DC power to masthead amplifiers or LNBs. Installers needing DC pass-through should choose a solid-copper alternative.
Upgrade from dual-shield RG6
This quad-shield cable replaces standard dual-shield RG6 where routing passes near electrical noise sources or where longer drops approach the 3.0 GHz bandwidth ceiling. The extra foil and braid layers improve rejection of impulse noise and cross-talk in dense bundles. The jump is worth it when the installation environment is electrically noisy or when future-proofing for higher-frequency satellite stacks; it is not necessary for short, clean indoor runs where dual shield already meets margin requirements.

Questions about this item
Should I pick the 1000ft reel or a shorter length for a whole-house TV and satellite run?
The 1000ft wooden reel suits whole-house installs where you pull multiple drops from one spool; shorter lengths are better for single-room patches.
What does the 3.0 GHz rating mean when the cable is terminated in my living room?
It confirms the quad-shield construction keeps insertion loss low enough for modern digital CATV and satellite signals up to 3 GHz at the wall outlet.
How does the F-type interface limit the 18AWG CCS conductor in practice?
Standard F-type connectors fit the 18AWG copper-clad steel centre conductor, so the connector — not the cable — sets the practical frequency and return-loss ceiling.
