A 17 cm 12VHPWR extension cable converts a PSU 16-pin output to dual 8-pin connectors for compatible graphics cards up to 600 W
This 17 cm conversion cable connects a power supply's native 12VHPWR output to graphics cards that use dual 8-pin PCIe connectors. It is built for builders upgrading to an ATX 3.0 or 3.1 PSU while keeping an existing RTX 30-series or 40-series card. The 16 AWG copper conductors are rated for up to 600 W delivery. It is not a modular PSU cable and must attach to the PSU's original 12VHPWR lead.
The female 16-pin (12+4) end mates only with the male 12VHPWR connector supplied by the power supply; it will not plug into a GPU-side 12VHPWR port. Compatible PSUs include Corsair SF1000L, TX1000, 850 and 750 ATX 3.0 units, Corsair HX1000i, 1200i and 1500i ATX 3.1 units, and Seasonic Core GX and Focus GX models from 650 W to 1000 W. The dual 8-pin (6+2) male ends serve GPUs such as the RTX 3060, 3070, 3070 Ti, 3080, 4060 and 4070. Cards with a native 12+4 pin connector, including the RTX 4070 Ti Super and RTX 5070, cannot use this cable.
The short 17 cm length keeps cable clutter low but demands that the PSU and GPU ports sit close together; measure the routing path before ordering. Because this is a conversion cable, the PSU must already ship with a 12VHPWR output — adapters from dual 8-pin to 12VHPWR will not work in reverse. A frequent error is attempting to plug the female end into a graphics card's 12VHPWR socket instead of the PSU cable; the keying prevents this, but force can damage pins. Ensure each 6+2 segment clicks fully into the GPU to avoid intermittent power.

This cable is 17 cm long and uses 16 AWG copper conductors, so there is no alternative length or gauge to select.
The 16 AWG copper wires are rated to carry up to 600 W continuously from the PSU 12VHPWR output to the dual 8-pin GPU connectors.
The 16-pin (12+4) female end mates with the PSU native 12VHPWR or 12V-2X6 output, capping delivery at the cable's 600 W rating.
