  • Mounts in a standard 5.25" front bay
  • Supports both SATA and SAS interfaces for mixed drive sets

4-bay 2.5" SAS/SATA hot-swap enclosure

This LORDWORLD enclosure fits a single 5.25" bay and accepts up to four 2.5" SAS or SATA hard drives or SSDs between 5 mm and 9.5 mm thick. It is aimed at system builders and technicians who need to add or swap multiple drives without opening the chassis. Hot-swap trays allow each drive to be inserted or removed while the system is running.

Practical limits of SATA and SAS

The SATA and SAS interfaces used here top out at 6 Gbps, so drive throughput cannot exceed that ceiling regardless of the SSD installed. Each bay requires its own data and power connection to the host, consuming four SATA ports and four power leads. Drive height must stay within the 5 mm to 9.5 mm range; taller 2.5" drives will not fit.
