4-bay 2.5-inch SAS/SATA mobile rack for 5.25-inch

This enclosure fits four 2.5-inch SAS or SATA hard drives or SSDs into one external 5.25-inch drive bay. It is built for system integrators and operators who need dense, removable storage in industrial PCs, medical imaging gear or media servers. A keylock and eagle-hook mechanism secure each drive tray inside the full-metal chassis.

SATA 6Gbps and SAS 12Gbps single-channel interface

The backplane passes one SATA 6Gbps or SAS 12Gbps channel to each installed drive. Throughput will not exceed the single-lane rate of the connected controller. Drives thicker than 15mm cannot be mounted, and the unit occupies a full-height 5.25-inch bay, so it cannot fit in slimline or 3.5-inch front-panel openings.

Drive-height compatibility decides fit

The trays accept 2.5-inch drives measuring 5mm, 7mm, 9mm, 12.5mm or 15mm in height. Any drive outside this range will not seat correctly in the EZ Slide Mini Tray. Verify the exact Z-height of each SSD or HDD before purchase to avoid mechanical interference.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 5 mm or 15 mm drive height for this 4-bay 5.25 inch rack?

The tray accepts 2.5 inch drives from 5 mm up to 15 mm, so any height in that range fits the same slot.

What does the 12 Gbps SAS rating deliver inside a live server?

Each bay runs a single SAS 12 Gbps or SATA 6 Gbps channel, giving full interface speed to every installed drive.

How does the single-channel SAS 12 Gbps link limit total throughput?

One 12 Gbps SAS lane serves all four bays, so combined traffic cannot exceed that single-channel bandwidth.
