MCIO 8i SFF-TA-1016 to dual Oculink 4i adapter

This adapter kit connects a single MCIO 8i SFF-TA-1016 port to two Oculink 4i SFF-8611 connectors. It enables storage expansion for servers and workstations using the MCIO interface. The kit includes the MB852M2PO-B module and one MB302L-B cable assembly for direct drive attachment.

Upgrades from single-port MCIO or legacy backplanes

The jump is worth it when a controller or backplane offers only one MCIO 8i link but the chassis requires two separate Oculink 4i drive connections. It does not suit builds that need more than two Oculink ports or a different MCIO pinout.

Questions about this item

Will the MCIO 8i SFF-TA-1016 connector fit my backplane port?

The MB852M2PO-B presents a single MCIO 8i SFF-TA-1016 plug that mates with the matching receptacle on your backplane or controller card.

What is the correct orientation when plugging the Oculink 4i SFF-8611 cables?

Each SFF-8611 connector has a keyed latch; align the notch with the port key and press straight in until the latch clicks — do not force it at an angle.
