This adapter connects 2.5 and 3.5 inch SATA or IDE hard drives and optical drives to a USB 3.0 port. The dual-head IDE connector fits both 40pin and 44pin devices while the SATA connector supports drives up to 10 TB. Three drives can operate at the same time making it useful for data recovery or bulk archiving tasks.

Verify drive power and ports

Check that each 3.5 inch IDE drive can use the included 4PIN power cable and that your host has a free USB 3.0, 2.0 or 1.1 port. The 12V 2A power adapter must be plugged in for any 3.5 inch drive. SATA drives draw power through the adapter cable itself so no extra connector is needed for them.

Sustained transfer behaviour
