  • Low power draw under 3.5 W from a single 3.3 V supply

25G SFP28 Active Optical Cable for High-Speed Links

This LR-LINK SFP28-AOC-5M is a 5-metre active optical cable built for 25 Gigabit Ethernet connections. It suits data-centre operators and network engineers who need reliable short-reach links between switches, servers or storage arrays.

Per-channel rate of 25 Gbit/s across four

Each of the four channels carries up to 25 Gbit/s, giving aggregate throughput for 25GbE without the bulk or reach limits of copper twinax. The cable draws under 3.5 W from a single 3.3 V supply and operates from 0 °C to 70 °C in commercial environments.

Hot-pluggable SFP28 form factor enables tool-free

Insert or remove the modules while the host equipment is powered on; no soldering or specialised tools are required. The multimode VCSEL array is sensitive to end-face contamination, so clean the connectors before mating and avoid tight bends that exceed the fiber's minimum bend radius.

Questions about this item

What does 25 Gbit/s per channel mean for actual throughput?

Each of the four full-duplex channels delivers up to 25 Gbit/s, so the cable can move 25 Gbit/s in each direction on every channel simultaneously.

How does the SFP28 interface limit the link?

The hot-pluggable SFP28 form factor caps each channel at 25 Gbit/s and requires a host port that supplies 3.3 V.

What clearance and mounting does the 5 m cable need?

The SFP28 connectors fit standard cages, and the 5 m multimode fiber run needs enough slack to avoid tight bends.
