LUOM 2.5" SATA to USB-C Enclosure

This transparent enclosure turns a 2.5 inch SATA hard drive or SSD into an external USB-C storage device. It accepts drives up to 2 TB and connects through a USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C port. The tool-free slide cover lets you install or swap a drive in seconds. LED lighting shows power and activity status at a glance.

UASP Protocol and Included Cable

The built-in UASP protocol reduces CPU overhead and cuts data latency compared with standard USB 3.0 transfers. An 18 month warranty covers the enclosure itself. The package supplies a USB Type-C to USB-A cable for broad compatibility with existing ports. A USB-C to USB-C cable is not included and must be sourced separately for direct USB-C connections.

Compatibility Checks Before Ordering

Verify that your drive is a 2.5 inch SATA model and does not exceed the 2 TB capacity limit. Confirm your host computer offers a USB-A or USB-C port able to supply sufficient bus power for the installed drive. Ensure you have a USB-C to USB-C cable if you plan to connect directly to a USB-C only machine.

Questions about this item

Will the SATA-to-USB bridge board need replacement if I swap drives larger than 2 TB?

The enclosure is rated for drives up to 2 TB; larger capacities are not supported, so the bridge board would not handle them.

What throughput ceiling appears first during long sequential transfers?

The USB 3.1 Gen 1 link caps sustained throughput at 5 Gbps, and UASP adds roughly 20 % over plain USB 3.0.

How warm does the clear polycarbonate shell get when the drive runs continuously?

The enclosure relies on passive airflow through the transparent PC case; no active cooling is fitted, so surface temperature follows the drive’s own heat output.
