DisplayPort to HDMI adapter

This male-to-female adapter connects a DisplayPort source to an HDMI display. It supports PC resolutions up to 1920 x 1200 and HDTV resolutions up to 1080p. A separate HDMI cable is required to complete the link. Gold-plated contacts and a latching DisplayPort plug help maintain a stable connection.

Resolution headroom and limits

The adapter handles common PC modes including 800x600, 1024x768, 1280x800, 1440x900, 1680x1050 and 1920x1080. It also passes HDTV formats such as 480i, 576i, 480p, 576p, 1080i and 1080p. It does not support 4K or higher refresh-rate timings beyond the listed resolutions.

7.1 channel audio pass-through

The converter carries 7.1 channel surround sound alongside the video signal through the HDMI output. HDCP support allows protected content playback on compliant displays. Buyers needing more than stereo or multi-channel audio over HDMI will find this covered.

Yes, the adapter supports PC resolutions including 800x600, 1024x768, 1280x768 and 1280x800, so it will drive your legacy display at its native resolution.

How can I verify the 7.1 channel surround audio is passing through correctly after I connect everything?

Play a 7.1 test file in your OS sound control panel or media player and confirm all eight channels are audible; the adapter supports 7.1 channel surround audio pass-through via HDMI.

Does the box include an HDMI cable or do I need to buy one separately?

The package contains the LUOM DisplayPort male to HDMI female adapter only; a separate HDMI cable is required to complete the connection to your monitor.
