SATA-to-USB 3.0 adapter with 12 V power

This LUOM E-yield T04 adapter connects any standard 2.5" or 3.5" SATA hard drive or SSD to a computer through a USB 3.0 port. It includes a 12 V 2 A power supply so both drive sizes receive adequate power. The cable supports UASP for reduced processor overhead and faster throughput. It is aimed at users who need quick, temporary access to bare SATA drives for backup, cloning or data recovery.

Suits anyone with spare SATA drives needing

Buyers who want a permanent internal installation or a rugged enclosure for daily transport should look elsewhere. The adapter is not designed for continuous server duty or for drives that exceed the 12 TB capacity limit stated by the supplier. It also lacks hardware encryption, so users requiring built-in drive locking will need a different solution.

Maximum supported capacity is 12 TB

The manufacturer specifies that the adapter works with 2.5" and 3.5" SATA HDDs and SSDs up to 12 TB. Drives larger than this limit are not guaranteed to function correctly. This single capacity ceiling is the key figure to check before purchasing.

Questions about this item

Does the LUOM E-yield T04 include the 12V 2A power adapter or must I buy one separately?

The 12V 2A power adapter is included in the box so both 2.5 and 3.5 inch SATA drives can be powered immediately.

When should I choose the 2.5 inch form factor versus the 3.5 inch drive support?

Use the adapter with 2.5 inch SSDs or laptop drives for portable operation; connect 3.5 inch desktop drives when you need higher capacities up to 12TB.

What does the 5 Gbps headline speed mean when I plug the adapter into my computer?

The adapter delivers up to 5 Gbps over USB 3.0 and supports UASP, which can be 70% faster than standard USB 3.0 with 80% less CPU overhead when the host controller also supports UASP.
