The LUOM HDMI2SDI micro converter takes a single HDMI source and produces two simultaneous SDI outputs for broadcast monitors or long cable runs. It accepts HDMI 1.3 with HDCP 1.3 and handles embedded audio without separate wiring. The unit draws power over USB so no external adapter is required. Plug-and-play operation works across Windows, macOS, Linux and Android without driver installation.

Sustained operation

A metal enclosure provides passive cooling that keeps the converter stable during continuous streaming or recording sessions. Built-in ESD protection guards the circuitry against static discharge in studio environments. The dual SDI outputs maintain locked 4:2:2 and 4:4:4 sampling at 2.97 Gbit/s for 3G-SDI and 1.485 Gbit/s for HD-SDI without frame drops over extended periods. Distance limits

SDI cable reach is rated at 100 metres for 3G-SDI, 200 metres for HD-SDI and 300 metres for SD-SDI, so the installation topology decides whether this converter fits the run. It only converts HDMI to SDI; reverse conversion or daisy-chaining multiple units of the same type is not supported. Buyers needing SDI-to-HDMI translation or longer single-cable runs must choose a different device.
