The LUOM HY-5001 extracts audio from an HDMI source and delivers it through optical Toslink SPDIF and RCA stereo outputs while passing the original video signal to an HDMI display. It accepts one HDMI input and provides three selectable audio modes: PASS, 2.0CH and 5.1CH.

Installers who need to feed a soundbar, amplifier or AV receiver from a Blu-ray player, games console, streaming stick or PC without an HDMI audio input will find this converter straightforward. It is not for systems that rely on ARC return-channel audio, nor for setups that require 4K at higher refresh rates or HDR pass-through, because the HDMI path is limited to 1080p and 36-bit deep colour.
