Two-computer USB-C KVM for shared peripherals

This LUOM OZK8 switch lets two USB-C laptops or desktops share one DisplayPort or HDMI monitor, seven USB 2.0 devices and a single RJ45 network connection. Front-panel push buttons change the active computer in seconds. The aluminium-alloy housing measures 5.43 x 5.35 x 1.46 inches and weighs 9.52 ounces. Two 1.2-metre USB-C cables are included in the box.

Passive cooling with 100 W Power Delivery

The unit draws power from the attached computers and uses its metal shell to dissipate heat without fans, so operation stays silent. Each USB-C input supports Power Delivery 3.0 up to 100 W, feeding the corresponding laptop while the switch is active. Video bandwidth reaches 48 Gbps over HDMI 2.1 and 32.4 Gbps over DisplayPort 1.4, handling 8K at 60 Hz with DSC or 4K at 144 Hz without exceeding thermal limits.

USB-C laptops with Thunderbolt 3 or 4 ports

Both computers must provide USB-C video-out and PD charging on the same port; the switch does not accept separate power bricks or legacy video cables. Seven USB 2.0 Type-A ports free up laptop hubs for keyboards, mice, printers and storage drives. The single monitor output means only one screen can be active at a time, so users needing simultaneous dual-display setups should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

How do I install the LUOM OZK8 2-Port USB-C KVM Switch and what step do people often miss?

Connect each computer to a USB-C input port using the included 1.2 meter USB Gen 2 cables, then attach one monitor to the HDMI or DP output; the step users miss is plugging the KVM's own power supply into the PD port so the switch can deliver up to 100 W to each laptop.

What maintenance or replacement will the LUOM OZK8 KVM need later?

No scheduled maintenance is required; if a USB-C cable wears out, replace it with another USB Gen 2 Type-C to Type-C cable of 1.2 meters or shorter to keep 48 Gbps bandwidth and 100 W PD.

What limit appears first during sustained 8K 60 Hz use on the LUOM OZK8?

The HDMI 2.1 output reaches its 48 Gbps bandwidth ceiling at 8K 60 Hz with DSC, so that resolution is the practical ceiling before compression or frame-rate drops occur.
