What this cable does

The LUOM PQ004 is a USB4 Gen 3x2 cable built for users who need one lead that carries 40 Gbps data, 240 W charging and 8K 60 Hz video. It suits laptop owners, creatives and anyone connecting a dock, monitor or fast SSD through a single USB-C port.

The spec that decides fit

Your host and device must both support USB4 Gen 3x2 or Thunderbolt 3/4 to unlock the full 40 Gbps bandwidth and 240 W power delivery; on older USB 3.2, 3.1 or 2.0 ports the cable will still work but at the lower speeds and wattages those standards allow.

Installation and common issues

Plug the reversible USB-C connectors in either orientation — no driver install is required. The braided jacket survives 5,000 bend cycles, so routing behind desks is safe. The only frequent mistake is expecting 8K 60 Hz or dual 4K output from a host whose USB-C port lacks DisplayPort Alt Mode or Thunderbolt video support.

Questions about this item

What does 40 Gbps mean when the cable is connected between two USB4 devices?

At 40 Gbps the cable moves large files — movies, music libraries or project folders — in seconds between two USB4 hosts or peripherals, provided both ends support the Gen 3×2 rate.

Which USB standard and Thunderbolt versions does the USB4 Gen 3×2 interface actually cap at?

The cable runs at USB4 Gen 3×2 40 Gbps and is Thunderbolt 4 certified; it also works with Thunderbolt 3, USB 3.2, USB 3.1 and USB 2.0, falling back to each standard’s own speed ceiling.

What physical clearance and bend radius does the 3.3 ft braided cable need to fit behind a desk or in a bag?

The 3.3 ft length with a durable sleeved jacket survives 5 000 lab-tested bends, so it routes tightly behind equipment or coils into a laptop sleeve without kinking.
