Dual-Monitor 2-Port KVM Switch

The LUOM SW221-2HD is a dual-monitor KVM switch that lets one keyboard, one mouse and two HDMI displays control two computers, laptops or game consoles. It provides synchronous 2-in-2-out switching so both screens change source at the same time. Extended and mirror display modes are supported for multitasking across two systems. The unit is designed for office or home setups that need to manage two hosts from a single workstation.

HDMI 2.1 Bandwidth and Resolution Limits

Video bandwidth follows the HDMI 2.1 specification and HDCP 2.3, allowing a maximum of 8K at 60 Hz, 4K at 120 Hz and 2K at 144 Hz. Lower resolutions such as 1080p and 720p are also supported. To reach 8K 60 Hz both the source and the display must support that mode and a certified Ultra High Speed HDMI 2.1 cable must be used. The integrated USB hub runs at USB 3.0 speeds for connected peripherals.

Cabling and Power Requirements Before Buying

Each computer connection needs one HDMI cable and one USB 3.0 data cable; the package includes two USB 3.0 cables but no HDMI cables. A DC power adapter is required and is supplied in the box. Switching is performed by push buttons on the unit with an optional 3-second auto-scan interval. Verify that your graphics outputs and monitors can deliver the desired resolution and refresh rate before ordering.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 8K 60Hz, 4K 120Hz or 2K 144Hz mode for my setup?

Choose the highest resolution and refresh rate that both your computers and both monitors support; the switch passes through 8K at 60 Hz, 4K at 120 Hz or 2K at 144 Hz without conversion.

What does the 8K 60Hz rating actually deliver when I connect two PCs and two displays?

It carries a native 7680×4320 signal at 60 frames per second from either computer to both monitors, provided every link in the chain — GPU, cable and display — is rated for that bandwidth.

How does the HDMI 2.1 interface with HDCP 2.3 limit what I can run on each screen?

The HDMI 2.1 ports cap the link at the 8K 60Hz, 4K 120Hz or 2K 144Hz levels listed, and HDCP 2.3 ensures protected content plays only on compliant displays.
