What it is

This is a USB-C to USB-C cable rated for 40 Gbps data transfer and 240 W power delivery. It suits professionals moving large project files between Thunderbolt 4, Thunderbolt 3, USB4 or USB-C hosts and peripherals.

Build and connectors

The male-to-male grey cable carries Thunderbolt 3 certification and supports DisplayPort Alternate Mode for video. Its 240 W rating means a single cable can charge phones, tablets and high-performance laptops from the same port.

Upgrade path

It replaces older 60 W or 100 W cables that limit charging speed or bandwidth. The jump is worthwhile when a workstation dock, 8K display or fast external SSD demands the full 40 Gbps and 240 W simultaneously.

What physical clearance does the 4 ft USB-C to USB-C cable need to fit?

The 4 ft grey cable uses male-to-male USB-C connectors and requires only the port depth of a standard USB-C socket on each device.

How is the cable installed and what step is often missed?
