Converts VGA and 3.5 mm audio to HDMI up to 1920x1080 at 60 Hz with USB power
This LUOM converter translates analog VGA output into digital HDMI while embedding 3.5 mm audio into the same stream. It suits owners of legacy desktops, laptops or set-top boxes that lack HDMI and need a simple link to modern monitors, projectors or televisions. Power comes from an integrated USB cable, so no separate mains adapter is required.
The unit replaces passive VGA-to-HDMI cables that cannot supply enough current for reliable 1080p at 60 Hz conversion. The jump is worthwhile when the source only offers VGA and 3.5 mm audio yet the display demands a single HDMI input with embedded sound. It supports input resolutions from 640x480 through 1920x1080 at 60 Hz, selectable via a 720p/1080p switch on the housing.
Bandwidth is capped at 6.75 Gbps total with 12-bit per channel deep colour and uncompressed two-channel LPCM audio. The converter is unidirectional — VGA in, HDMI out — so it cannot drive a VGA monitor from an HDMI source. It also requires a free USB port for power, which may be unavailable on some compact devices.

Connect the VGA and 3.5 mm audio cables from the source, the USB power cable to a 5 V port, and the HDMI cable to the display.
The USB power cable must be plugged in; without external power the converter will not output a signal.
No maintenance is required; the gold-plated contacts resist corrosion and the 720p/1080p switch is a passive mechanical control.
