Two-channel DVI capture for PCIe 2.0 x4

The Magewell Pro Capture Dual DVI is a plug-in card that captures two independent HD sources through its DVI-I inputs. It supports PC, Mac and Linux platforms and handles video capture, audio embedding and on-board scaling in a single slot form factor.

Suited for multi-source recording

This card fits producers who need simultaneous ingest from two DVI cameras, medical imagers or legacy graphics outputs. It is not for workflows that require HDMI, SDI or DisplayPort inputs without active adapters, nor for systems that lack a PCI Express 2.0 x4 slot.

Maximum resolution 2048 x 2160 per channel

Each input can capture up to 2048 x 2160 pixels, setting the ceiling for source detail the card can digitise. This resolution limit determines whether a given camera or graphics signal will be captured at its native quality or downscaled by the on-board scaler.

Questions about this item

How do I install the Pro Capture Dual DVI card into a PCI Express 2.0 x4 slot?

Power off the system, insert the plug-in card firmly into a PCI Express 2.0 x4 slot, secure the bracket, then attach the two DVI to VGA connectors or the DVI-I to HDMI and component breakouts for your sources.

What maintenance or replacement will the Pro Capture Dual DVI card need later?

The card has no user-serviceable parts or consumables; keep the slot and DVI connectors dust-free and ensure the host system cooling keeps the 3.6-inch by 4.6-inch board within operating temperature.

What limit appears first during sustained capture at 2048 x 2160 resolution?

The PCI Express 2.0 x4 host interface bandwidth is the first bottleneck when both channels continuously stream at the maximum 2048 x 2160 resolution.
