Single-feed MICR check reader
The MagTek Mini-MICR model 22522003 reads E13-B and CMC-7 fonts in one pass. It connects to point-of-sale terminals through an RS-232 serial interface. The unit includes the cable and 12 VAC 1.0 Amp power supply. No magnetic stripe reader is fitted.
RS-232 serial interface limits
Data moves at the speed the host terminal sets on its serial port. Cable length and signal quality bound the practical distance. The scanner cannot use USB or keyboard-wedge signalling because this unit ships with RS-232 only.
Check throughput and font coverage
One document at a time feeds through the single-feed path. Both E13-B and CMC-7 MICR standards are decoded on every pass. High-volume batch environments will find the single-feed design the limiting factor.

Questions about this item
Which version should I choose since there is no MSR option?
This model is offered only without a magnetic stripe reader, so the single version covers all configurations.
What does the RS-232 interface mean for daily check processing?
It connects directly to a POS serial port and transmits MICR data in a single pass without additional conversion hardware.
What do the ANSI X9.100-120 and X9.100-160 standards cap in practice?
They define the MICR character set and formatting rules the scanner follows, ensuring compatibility with bank clearing systems.
