SlimSAS X8 to 8 SATA cable

This SlimSAS X8 to 8 SATA cable connects a host or RAID controller with an SFF-8654 74-pin port to up to eight SATA drives. The compact connector and cable design saves space inside dense chassis or storage enclosures. It is suited for builders linking multiple SATA targets to a single high-density host interface.

Practical limits of the SlimSAS interface

The cable supports 24 Gbps per channel for SAS and 8 GT/s per channel for PCIe signalling, meeting the SAS 3.0 and Ultraport SlimSAS SFF-8654 specifications. Total throughput depends on the host controller and the number of active drives. Builders needing more than eight SATA connections or a different host connector type will require an alternative cable assembly.
