Purpose-built recordable discs

These Maxell CD-R discs provide 700 MB of write-once storage each, suitable for music, data backups or disc images. The 50-count spindle keeps the media organised for home, office or small-batch duplication tasks.

Speed ceiling of the CD-R format

The orange-book CD-R standard caps recording at 48×, so these discs cannot be written faster regardless of drive capability. Playback speed in standard CD-ROM or audio players is likewise limited by the Red Book specification.

700 MB per disc capacity

Each disc holds 700 MB (80 minutes of CD-DA audio), which decides whether the media fits a given project. Buyers needing more space per piece must choose DVD-R, Blu-ray or other higher-capacity formats.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 50-pack spindle or a smaller quantity?

This item is sold as a 50-disc spindle; if you need fewer discs you would have to choose a different pack size.

What does the 48X speed rating mean when I burn a disc?

The 48X rating is the maximum write speed the discs support; actual burn time depends on your drive and the data being written.

Are these discs compatible with standard CD-R drives?

Yes, they follow the standard CD-R format and work in any drive that writes CD-R media.
