7 ft gray cable with RJ11 connectors links a phone socket to an ADSL router or modem
This seven-foot grey cable carries an ISDN or ADSL signal from a wall socket to a modem or router. The RJ11 plugs lock securely into standard phone sockets and the four gold-plated contacts maintain a clean connection. It is intended for anyone who needs a short, reliable link between their broadband equipment and the telephone line.
The 7 ft length suits setups where the router sits close to the master socket, such as a desk or shelf near the wall outlet. It will not reach across a room or through a doorway, so installers who need a longer run should look elsewhere. The cable is unshielded, so environments with strong electrical interference may require a different solution.
The single specification that decides fit is the 7 ft length combined with RJ11 connectors on both ends. If the distance between your socket and modem matches this reach and your hardware uses RJ11 ports, the cable will work; otherwise a different length or connector type is required.

Insert the RJ11 connector into the modem's DSL port until the thicker release clip clicks; the step often missed is confirming the clip is fully seated so the 4 gold plated contact pins make solid contact.
The RJ11 release clip is the wear point; it is thicker than ordinary clips but repeated cycles will eventually fatigue the plastic latch before the cable jacket or the 4 gold plated contact pins degrade.
The cable is 7 ft long; ADSL signals degrade with distance, so adding more length beyond this 7 ft run will increase attenuation and reduce sync speed before any other factor becomes limiting.
