  • Commercial-grade unit suited for professional environments

Purpose and audience

The Microsoft DLB00001 is a 23W USB-C battery backup designed for professionals who need portable power for Surface devices. It suits mobile workers and field technicians who require a compact UPS to keep compatible hardware running during short outages or away from wall outlets.

Build integration

The unit connects via a single USB-C port and delivers up to 23W of backup power without an external AC adapter. It fits into a carry bag alongside a Surface tablet or laptop, freeing the user from hunting for a mains socket during client visits or commutes. No additional cables or software configuration are required for basic operation.

Capacity and limits

The 23W output comfortably maintains a Surface device under typical productivity loads such as document editing or video calls. It will not sustain high-draw peripherals, discrete GPUs or multiple displays simultaneously. Runtime scales with the connected device's battery state and workload, so extended heavy use will deplete the reserve quickly.

Questions about this item

How long will the 23W output sustain my device during a power cut?

The unit delivers up to 23 W of USB-C power; runtime depends on the connected device's consumption and battery state.

Does the power supply generate noticeable heat or fan noise during continuous operation?

No fan is present, so operation is silent; the casing warms slightly under full 23 W load but stays within normal limits.

Which cable do I need to connect this UPS to my Surface?

A USB-C cable capable of carrying 23 W is required; the unit provides the USB-C output port only.
