Sector antenna for outdoor wireless links

The MikroTik RBSXTG-5HPacD-SA US integrates a 13 dBi 90-degree sector antenna with a dual-chain 802.11ac radio. It delivers up to 866 Mbit over-the-air data rates using 256-QAM modulation and 80 MHz channels. The device suits WISPs and network builders deploying point-to-multipoint coverage in the 5 GHz band.

Sustained throughput and thermal limits

Rated throughput reaches 540 Mbps with low latency under continuous load. The unit operates across an extended temperature range from -30 C to +80 C, maintaining performance in harsh outdoor environments. RF output of 1300 mW supports long-distance links without thermal throttling during prolonged operation.

Rugged enclosure with Gigabit uplink

The weatherproof housing mounts directly on poles or towers for sector coverage. A single Gigabit Ethernet port provides the wired backhaul connection and powers the unit via PoE. Backward compatibility with 802.11 a/n and legacy RouterBOARD protocols allows gradual network upgrades without replacing client devices.

Questions about this item

How much heat does the 1300 mW radio generate when the sector runs continuously?

The extended temperature range of -30 °C to +80 °C shows the unit is built to dissipate the heat from its 1300 mW output during all-day operation.

Which wired uplink does the appliance need to reach its 540 Mbps throughput?

A Gigabit Ethernet connection is required to feed the 802.11ac radio and achieve the rated 540 Mbps throughput.

Will the 90-degree sector antenna work with older 802.11 a/n clients on the same tower?

Yes, the radio supports 802.11 a/n modes and legacy Nstream and Nv2 protocols so existing clients can still connect.
